FAM Release
March 25, 2009: Fixed Assets Manager version 2008.02 released. This update includes new tax law changes for the extension of Bonus Depreciation, proposed auto limits for 2009, Section 179, and a final Form 4684, in addition to some other bug fixes.
FAM Updates
April 01, 2009: A bug fix update to Fixed Assets Manager release 2008.02 was issued.
Issue
Line 3 on Form 4562, Page 1 for Tax Year 2008 is printing the wrong amount.
The amount printing on line 3 of Form 4562 should show $800,000.00 for 2008 tax year data. In release 2008.02 it erroneously shows $530,000.00.
This affects all product versions, local and network, of the Fixed Assets Manager application except those customers that are using the hosted solution. This is an issue in release 2008.02 only.
Resolution
Updated report files need to be copied to the FAREPORT folder where Fixed Assets Manager is installed. This involves detaching the files below (FAVT4562_08.FRM; FAVT4562_07.FRM; FAVT4562_06.FRM) into the FAREPORT directory.
To do this, after installing the 2008.02 release, complete the following steps:
1. Click on the above file. When prompted, select Save. Save the 200802_Report_Update.zip file to your desktop.
2. Highlight and Double-click the 200802_Report_Update.zip file. Choose to 'Extract All Files'. Save the files to a location of your choice.
3. Open Windows Explorer on the workstation or server where the FAM software is installed.
4. Browse to the location that the files were extracted to. Highlight the FAVT4562_08.FRM, FAVT4562_07.FRM, and FAVT4562_06.FRM files, right-click and Select Copy. Then Browse to the location where the program is installed and Paste the extracted files into the FAREPORT sub-folder.
Note: For local installations, the FAREPORT folder is under the RedMoon folder.
5. When the Confirm Replace File message appears, select 'Yes'.
